Refurbishment on occupied buildings
Scaffolding for buildings that stay in use
Most refurbishment happens while a building is still occupied. Residents and staff need safe routes in and out, entrances have to stay usable, and the scaffold often has to wrap every elevation. We have scaffolded occupied blocks of flats in Kings Cross for new windows, a Maidenhead office block for cladding and painting, and The George Hotel in Reading town centre for external painting. Each scaffold is planned around the people using the building, netted where the work calls for it, and adapted as the work moves across the elevations.
Planned around occupants
Entrances, access routes and fire exits kept clear, with installs scheduled to limit disruption.
Every elevation covered
Full wraps and independent scaffolds that give access to the whole facade.
Netted and protected
Debris netting and protection that keep residents and the public safe below.
Adapted as work moves
We adjust the scaffold as each trade finishes and the next begins.

How it works
From survey to strike
One team looks after your scaffold from the first site visit to the day it comes down.
Survey
We visit the site, measure up and check access, ground conditions and whether a highway licence is needed.
Design & paperwork
The scaffold is specified to TG20:21, or designed bespoke where the structure needs it, with method statements and risk assessments issued before work starts.
Written quote
You receive a clear quotation setting out the scaffold, the hire period and the programme.
Erect & hand over
Our CISRS-qualified team erects the scaffold, then inspects and tags it before anyone uses it.
Inspect & adapt
Inspections continue through the hire, and we adapt the scaffold as the work moves on.
Strike & clear
When the job is done, we dismantle the scaffold and clear the site on the agreed date.

FAQs
Refurbishment & cladding scaffolding questions
Straight answers to the things people ask before booking scaffolding. Anything else, just call 0800 2086 905 or 07831 197615.
Ask a questionCan residents or staff keep using the building?
Yes. We plan the scaffold so entrances, fire exits and access routes stay clear, and schedule installs to keep disruption down. Tell us how the building is used and we will plan around it.
Will the scaffold be netted?
Where the work or the location calls for it, we fit debris netting to protect people and property below, as on our Kings Cross and Reading town-centre projects.
Do I need a licence for scaffolding on the pavement?
If any part of the scaffold stands on the pavement or road, the local council will require a licence before it goes up. We will tell you at the survey whether your site needs one and what it involves.
Can the scaffold move round the building in phases?
Yes. On larger jobs we can scaffold elevation by elevation, moving the scaffold as each phase finishes. We will set out the phasing in your written quotation.
Do you provide RAMS and inspection records?
Yes. Method statements and risk assessments are issued before work starts, and the scaffold is inspected throughout the hire with the records kept up to date.
