Our story
Built on workmanship, integrity and safety
Founded in 1990, 1st Scaffolding (Berkshire) Ltd was established with a clear and straightforward goal: to deliver reliable, safe and highly professional scaffolding services to clients in Reading and the surrounding areas. From the very beginning, the company was built on strong principles of workmanship, integrity and safety, and a practical understanding of what construction projects demand.
In our early years we were a small but dedicated team, focusing on local domestic projects and building strong relationships in the community. We have since grown to take on commercial and industrial projects across the region, but our core values have not changed: every project, whatever its size, gets the same care, planning and precision.

Scaffolding across Berkshire and beyond
Our yard is in Tidmarsh, between Reading and Pangbourne, which puts most of Berkshire and the Thames Valley within a short drive for surveys, deliveries and inspections. We travel further for commercial contracts too, from Oxford and High Wycombe to Basingstoke, Southampton and West London. If your site is not on the list, ask and we will tell you straight away whether we can cover it.

Accredited, audited and insured
Our scaffolders are CISRS qualified, our structures are erected to TG20:21 guidance, all our scaffolding work is fully insured up to £10 million, and the company holds the accreditations below. That means principal contractors, councils and housing providers can bring us onto their sites with confidence.
