Newbury scaffolders
Our yard in Tidmarsh is in West Berkshire too, a short run east of Newbury along the A4 or the M4. We cover the town centre around Northbrook Street and the Market Place, the residential areas of Speen, Shaw, Wash Common, Greenham and Donnington, and the villages out towards Hungerford, Hermitage and Chieveley.
Newbury has plenty of older buildings, from its churches to the Georgian and Victorian streets around the centre. For one of the town’s churches, we wrapped the brick tower in a scaffold from the churchyard to above the parapet for repointing, with a lattice beam carrying the scaffold over the nave roof where the tower meets the church. We scaffold homes and shops across the town as well, from re-roofs and extensions to chimneys and redecoration.

Only if the scaffold stands on the public highway, such as a pavement or road. In Newbury and across West Berkshire, the licence comes from West Berkshire Council. Scaffolding kept on your own land does not need one, and we will confirm at the survey whether your job does.
Yes. In Newbury we scaffolded a church tower for repointing, from the churchyard to above the parapet, with guardrails at the top and a lattice beam over the nave roof. Scaffolds like this are planned around the building and its grounds, with the ties and fixings agreed before work starts.
If your building is listed, check with West Berkshire Council’s planning team before any fixings go into the historic fabric. We can share the tie layout with them before work starts.
It depends on the job and our programme at the time, but Newbury is close to our yard, so surveys and deliveries are easy to fit in. Tell us your start date when you enquire and we will give you a realistic date for the scaffold.
The full range: domestic scaffolding for roofs, chimneys, extensions and redecoration, commercial scaffolding for shops and offices, temporary roofs, industrial access, and heritage scaffolding for older buildings. We also supply scaffold designs, method statements and inspections.
