Temporary structures, designed to your needs
Protect your project from the weather
Temporary roofs are an essential addition to many scaffolding structures, protecting domestic and commercial projects from the weather while work carries on safely underneath. Whether you are carrying out roof repairs, a full re-roof, a loft conversion or a major refurbishment, a temporary roof keeps the building dry and the programme on track. Our service is managed from start to finish: we handle the design, installation, inspection and dismantling, install on time and remove the roof promptly once the work is complete.

Erect & hand over

FAQs
Temporary roofs questions
Straight answers to the things people ask before booking scaffolding. Anything else, just call 0800 2086 905 or 07831 197615.
Ask a questionDo I need a temporary roof?
If your roof will be open to the weather for more than a short spell, a temporary roof keeps the building dry and lets work carry on when it rains. We will advise at the survey whether your project needs one.
Does it need a bespoke design?
Yes. Temporary roofs fall outside the standard TG20:21 arrangements, so each one is designed for the building and the loads it must take, including wind. We handle the design as part of the service.
How is a temporary roof supported?
It is built on and tied into the supporting scaffold, which is designed to carry it. That keeps the structure stable and gives safe access to everyone working beneath.
When is the temporary roof removed?
Promptly, once the work under it is complete, restoring full access to your property. The removal date is agreed as part of the programme.
Is the scaffold inspected during the hire?
Yes. Scaffolds must be inspected by a competent person before first use, after any alteration or event such as high winds, and at least every seven days. We carry out these checks through the hire and keep the records up to date.
